There's something artistic about a wharf. It is like a large structural piece of art sculpted and weaved from logs and rock, and no two are alike. I enjoy painting them for the challenge of trying to capture all the intricate surfaces of the weather beaten and wave-warn wood, and the patterns of light and shadow.
